"A Man Called God" Starring Song Il Gook: A Smooth and Spectacular Beginning

[2010-03-23 11:11:00]

Starring Song Il Gook, the MBC’s special production drama “A Man Called God” rated 15.0% as its first episode aired on TV, March 6th, signaling a smooth beginning.
While many praise the drama’s unique imagination, others criticize that it “lacks realism since it was based on a manhwa.” To this, Song Il Gook responded: “We tried to remain faithful to the original work as best we can, and I think that such criticism springs because our viewers are not used to the feel yet. As a fan of the original manhwa myself, I am trying my best not to lose the fun of the original and yet make the drama entertaining as a TV program.”
The first few episodes have been filmed in Hawaii since last month, focusing on showcasing various sites of attraction. As the plot progresses, the drama will focus more on the main characters’ stories of love and conflict. Song Il Gook revealed his excitement as he asked the viewers to “enjoy as we seriously delve into the twisted relationship between Choi Gang Ta, Bo Bae (played by Han Chae Young), and Vivian (played by Han Go Eun)” [March 8th=KEJ Park Ji Hye/translator=Jeong Ji Hyun]
