【July 19th=KEJ Koo Hye-Jin/ Translator= Jeong Ji-Hyun】Scoring a 10.9% screening rate, the special 2-hour first episode of TBS’ “You’re Beautiful” set the drama off to a good start in Japan.
A remake of the 2009 Korean original of the same title starring Jang Geun-Suk (23), Park Shin-Hye (21), Jeong Yong-Hwa (22), and Lee Hong-Ki (21), the drama portrays how a teenage sister-in-training comes to enter her twin brother’s band “A.N.Jell” while pretending to be a guy.
While staying true to the original plot, the Japanese version will also draw upon Japan’s own music scene, featuring various Japanese musicians as guest-stars. The singer Koda Kumi (28) made an appearance in the first episode, for instance.
The main actors include Takimoto Miori (19), who performs the female protagonist Miko/Mio, equivalent to Go Mi-Nam/ Mi-Nyu in the Korean version. Tamamori Yuta (21) from the idol group Kis-My-Ft2 plays the role of Ren – Hwang Tae-Kyung in the Korean version, played by Jang Geun-Suk. Kis-My-Ft2 also debuts into the major music scene with the song “Everybody Go,” the drama’s title theme.
Other casts include Fujigaya Taisuke (24) for the role of Shin-Hoo, played by Jeong Yong-Hwa in the Korean version, and Yaotome Hikaru (19) from “Hey! Say! Jump” for Jeremy’s role, played by Lee Hong-Ki in the Korean version.
