【J-News】Oricon Rankings’ “Top 10” Regular Is…?

【July 20th=KEJ Koo Hye-Jin/ Translator= Jeong Ji-Hyun】The popular Japanese singer Gackt (38) placed 3rd on the weekly Oricon chart on July 13th with his new single “Episode.0,” his first single to be released in approximately one year.
As his 39th single since his solo debut in June, 1999, “Episode.0” won Gackt the glorious 1st place on Oricon’s list of top 10 male solo artists who placed within 10th place the most with their singles. This means that every one of Gackt’s 39 singles so far placed 10th or above on the weekly rankings, surpassing Toshihiko Tahara (50)’s record of 38 singles (set by “Amega Sakenderu” in August 17th, 1992) in 18 years and 11 months.
“Episode.0” sold 290,000 copies and placed 3rd on July 25th’s weekly Oricon rankings. 1st place in singles went to “Fuini” by Itano Tomomi (20) of AKB48 and, in albums, to Juju’s “You,” attesting to the increasing popularity of female solo artists.
