Singer and actor Rain(27) was the winner of three awards at Hollywood’s Green Planet Movie Awards ceremony, announced JTune Entertainment on March 25th.

The ceremony was held on the 23rd at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, USA. Rain was selected as one of the “10 Outstanding Asians in Hollywood” along with fellow Korean actress Sandra Oh from “Grey’s Anatomy” Not only that, Rain also received the “Asian Cultural Ambassador of the Year” and the “Best International Entertainer” awards, totaling three Hollywood awards. All of the hundred awards were decided by public vote on the internet.

This award ceremony especially focused more on Asia through “International Film” category, proving Hollywood’s great interest in Asian film industry. The following Asian films and actors won awards at the ceremony: Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho’s “Mother” won “Best International Film”; Chinese film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Wo Hu Cang Long) won “Best International Film of the Decade”; and “Asian Cultural Ambassador of the Decade” award went to Jackie Chan.

On the whole, Sandra Bullock who starred in the film “The Blind Side” won “Best Actress,” while Robert Downey Jr. from the film “Sherlock Holmes” won “Best Actor.” The film “Avatar” won “Best Science Fiction Film”, and its director James Cameron received the “Best Director” award.
