【July 23rd Shinjuku, Tokyo= KEJ Koo Hye-Jin/ Photographer= Chang Dong-Yeop/ Translator= Jeong Ji-Hyun】The male duo Norazo successfully finished their 2nd Japanese concert of the year.
Norazo met with around 1,000 fans at their concert “NORAZO HOT SUMMER VACATION PARTY 2011” that took place in the afternoon on July 23rd at Blaze in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Since their last concert in January, it took half a year for Norazo to reunite with their Japanese fans.
The concert opened with lively songs such as “Happy Song” and “Molae Molae.” Famous even in Japan for their unique performances, the “eccentric duo” Norazo amazed the fans once again with a shocking stage. Especially surprising were the short dramatic acts that played on the screen in between songs, with Lee Hyuk(31), dressed up as a girl, starring as Jo Bin(36)’s lover. “We wanted to show something very stimulating, and bringing down Lee Hyuk was the best way to do it,” revealed Jo Bin, making the crowd burst with laughter. Lee Hyuk looked away from the screen, saying “I’m too scared to see it myself.”
They also prepared another chance to show off their rather feminine side – this time, in the flesh. As the second part of the concert opened, the two appeared on stage both dressed as women and performed “Sakuranbo” by the Japanese female singer Otsuka Ai(28). With Jo Bin dressed in an adorably short dress reminiscent of Heidi and Lee Hyuk in a sexy, black Chinese dress, the combo swept across the whole stage parading their shapely figures.
The audience roared even more loudly when Norazo played their hit songs “Curry” and “Po Jang Ma Cha.” During “Rock Star,” the former rock-band singer Lee Hyuk presented a powerful performance of shouting and ripping off his shirt, adding fuel to the crowd’s excitement.
Norazo, who currently have a steady group of manic fans in Japan, promised to be more active in Japan in the near future. Jo Bin said, “We’ve only been able to meet with you [Japanese fans] just once or twice a year so far, but we plan on releasing an album in Japan and staying here longer. We’ll be very closer by, enough to be spotted at convenient stores and on the streets.” Furthermore, Lee Hyuk added words of condolences for the victims of the March earthquake, saying, “We wish everyone luck in recovering as soon as possible. Today’s concert was also planned in memory of those who suffered; I hope that it helped to lighten things up a bit. Let’s meet again next time with smiling faces.”
The concert came to a close with an encore song, while the background screen played pictures of Norazo and the fans that were collected on Twitter. Lastly, Norazo bade farewell to everyone who came by shaking each fan’s hands.
