【July 29th Zepp Tokyo= KEJ Saito Mizuki/ Photographer= Chang Dong-Yeop/ Translator= Jeong Ji-Hyun】 A member of SS501 who is currently on the roll as both a solo singer and an actor, Kim Hyun-Joon (25) held a press conference at Zepp Tokyo in Odaiba, Tokyo, on July 29th. The event took place to celebrate the showcase of his first solo mini-album “Break Down,” which released in Korea in June.
Kim Hyun-Joong appeared at the site in newly-dyed blond hair, a plaid shirt, and a dark indigo suit. On his style, Hyun-Joong commented that he went with black hair for performing “Break Down” in order to appeal his manliness but decided to try a new look for the soft 2nd single “Kiss Kiss.”
With the release of the new album, Kim Hyun-Joong received a lot of compliments that he has matured even more. He explained himself that he wanted to portray his growth from a boy to a man in the album. Indeed, he has deeply participated in many aspects of the album’s making, from producing and creating the music to designing the album’s covers. “I’ve put my heart and soul into the album,” Hyun-Joong said with a wide smile.
He has also gathered much attention for filming an epic music video that includes scenes from atop a helicopter. As a memorable incident, Hyun-Joong picked the scene where he had to be mean to a dog. “It was hard to act because the dog was too cute,” he said with a smile, saying that he even has two dogs at home himself.
That day, Kim Hyun-Joong also revealed his plans for a nationwide tour in Japan. He plans to tour 7 major cities in Japan, starting with Osaka on November 9th. Meanwhile, Kim Hyun-Joong presented his much progressed performance at the “Kim Hyun Joong Showcase ‘Break Down’ in Japan” in the afternoon on July 29th.
