1st Week of August Celebrates Many Hallyu Stars’ Birthdays

【August 5th= KEJ Shiina Saori/ Translator= Jeong Ji-Hyun】As if the record-breaking rain last week was just a dream, the first week of August in Korea continued in a blazing heat. A number of celebrities had their birthdays during these past sunny days.
On the 4th, the “Hallyu Prince” Jang Geun-Suk celebrated his 24th birthday while filming for the new movie “You Are Pet.” His co-actress Kim Ha-Neul (33) and the staff of the film prepared a birthday cake and other presents for him, which he accepted with much appreciation.
Meanwhile, Jang Geun-Suk plans to meet his Japanese fans on August 6th at Audi Korea’s event that will allow him to ride the new Audi A6 model before its public sale. On the following day, he will open his Asia tour – that visits a total of 6 cities all over Asia – with its first concert at the Jamsil Olympic Hall in Seoul.
Another star who had his birthday this week was the top Hallyu star Kwon Sang-Woo, – the popular protagonist of the drama “Stairway to Heaven” – who became 35 years old on August 5th. A Japanese travel agency is sponsoring his birthday-party tour of Japan, through which he will celebrate the occasion together with his Japanese fans.
SNSD, who just finished their 2nd solo concert in Seoul on July 23rd and 24th, also had a birthday girl among them this week. Tiffany became 23 years old on August 1st and received a special gift from her fans. Her fan club “Sisters” sent an ad to every press media to celebrate her birthday; it said, “August 1st is the 23rd birthday of the girl with a constantly bright smile. Happy Birthday, Tiffany! Sincerely, with love and cheers for Tiffany and Girls’ Generation.”
Lastly, SS501’s mak-nae Kim Hyung-Joon celebrated his 24th birthday on August 3rd, together with his fans at a celebratory event at the Yeon-Sei University’s 100th-Anniversary Concert Hall.
A lot more stars will celebrate their birthdays this month, including Big Bang’s G-Dragon (August 18th), Shin-Hwa’s Jeon Jin (19th), the former Super-Junior and an actor Kim Ki-Bum and FT Island’s Song Seung-Hyun (both on 21st), and 2AM’s Jo Kwon (28th).
