【August 2nd KEJ Koo=Hye-Jin/ Translator=Jeong Ji-Hyun】The singer/actor John Hoon (real name: Kim Jeong-Hoon) was booked without detention for driving under the influence.
The police in Gang-Nam, Seoul, revealed that they booked John Hoon and canceled his driver’s license on August 1st for violating the traffic laws.
According to the police, John Hoon drove a rented Mercedes Benz for about 200m after drinking at a restaurant at the Kyobo-Tower intersection in Kang-Nam gu Yeok-Sam dong in Seoul at around 10:40 am on July 30th. Another citizen who was at the same restaurant saw him drink and get into the driver’s seat and proceeded to call the police. His blood alcohol content upon arrest was 0.129%
On August 1st, John Hoon safely finished a public recording of MNet Japan’s new show “JJ’s MStudio” at the Yamano Hall in Yoyogi, Tokyo. On that same day, he even presented a spectacular duet performance of “A Whole New World” from Disney’s “Aladdin” along with Kara’s leader Kyu-Ri.
However, when the news of his arrest got broadcasted in the morning on August 2nd, John Hoon hurriedly canceled the day’s interview schedules with the Japanese media. He is known to be having a time of self-reflection at home.
Meanwhile, regardless of the incident, tvN’s drama “I Need Romance,” in which John Hoon plays a main character, decided to air its final episode on the 2nd as originally planned.
